| Whitzun at the forest festival site
Since the 70's the traditional Pentecost Festival takes place in Schliersee, Seestreet, every year. Organized by the ice hockey club this beer festival is known far beyond the borders of Bavaria and gets extremely busy for four days. Typical Bavarian dishes are served as well as the famous “Flötzinger” beer.

| Schliersee Lake Festival with brilliant fireworks 25.07. - 27.07.2014 Usually late July / early August, from Friday to Sunday, the Schliersee Lake Festival takes place. An exciting program with musical entertainment by the local brass band as well as performances by traditional Bavarian dance or other show dance groups is waiting for you. Choose among a great variety of many culinary specialties, hearty snacks and a cool, refreshing beer or a fine glass of wine. On Saturday or Sunday night, depending on the weather conditions, brilliant fireworks sparkle over the lake, surrounded by wonderful music and Bengal lights.

| “Ski Club Schliersee” Beer festival
The traditional beer festival takes place on a wooden site every year in August on a wooden site. It starts with the procession from the station along the lake to the festival site. In a large tent with a beer garden, the mayor officially opens the event and starts tapping beer from the wooden barrel. Children have fun on a beautiful playground next to the festival site, while their parents enjoy fresh beer, crispy chickens and barbecue and listen to a typical Bavarian brass band or to local entertainment music. |
| Spitzingsee mountain lake festival with brilliant firework
Every year a special event takes place: The Spitzingsee Mountain lake festival. Along the lake the Spitzingsee hosts treat you with delicious snacks. Illuminated boats on the lake and a campfire on the banks create a very romantic atmosphere at dusk. There are performances of the traditional Schliersee brass band, the folklore group and modern dance groups. The highlight of this special event are brilliant firework, accompanied by Bengal lights along the lake and on top of the mountains. At the end of the festival a public shuttle bus brings you back from Spitzingsee via Neuhaus to Schliersee.

| Alpine Triathlon
Nestled in beautiful countryside between Schliersee and Spitzingse the race is the among the best in the world. The challenging route makes the race very unique. A demanding, but not overwhelming track is a challenge for world champions and newcomers as well. The legendary “Spitzingsattel” and the track between Spitzingsee and Valepp has become a famous trademark now. |
| Leonhardi ride The Leonhardi ride belongs to one of the oldest Christian traditions of Bavaria.
Nicely groomed fine horses are the focus of this fall pilgrimage. The horse-drawn carriages are beautifully decorated. Everybody taking part in this procession is wearing traditional costumes. Enjoy this very impressive and colourful historical event!
At 9 am horses and horse drawn carriages meet at the station in Schliersee and ride along the lake to Fischhausen for the 10 o’clock service with blessing of the horses. |
